Default armor monuments - mixed armour

Don't you guys think its stupid how it won't register the armor unless you have the complete set? What if I don't want to conform and buy the entire set but instead mix and match my own pieces of 15k armor to make a better looking set? Now i have to waste an extra 45k + per char to complete one 15k armor set that doesn't even look that great....

It registers without the head piece, or at least it did with my Vabbian.

the gloves of some armor look the same as the cheap cheap 1.5 k dervish shoes are aslo not even visible so i agree that it doesnt make sense t have to buy it all.

I could register my Female Ancient Mesmer Armor without the headpiece. Same with 15k Kurzick for my Ritualist. And Female Ancient Elementalist Armor. You obviously don't need head pieces.

I wish the stupid monument would take sets outside of ascended sets. I've got 20 armor sets for my monk, but I'm only allowed to display 14 of them, and I'm not allowed to display Sacred (the best set)?

Pretty much all of the Prophecies armours except for the Warrior, and all of the Elementalist armours except Vabbian, lack a head piece.

Wouldn't that mean I could buy 1 piece from each set so I could have all the monuments for the same price as buying just 1 full set?

No, people want to display exactly what they are wearing, regardless if it consists of a full 'set' of one particular 15k armor.

Lemme make sure I get this.....

You want programmers at ANet to program every possible combination of 15k armors (and there are many) just so you can display your hybrid combo?

What name (obsidian, vabbian, mysterious, etc) would the armor be given in the HoM?

You chose to craft mismatched armor that the HoM does not recognize. get over it!

"Insert Character Name"'s armor or "Hybrid" Armor, or whatever.

Thanks, may just have to, but thanks for the reminder anyway.

yeah, my mesmers dont want to shell out 15k for something that no one can see (thats both the leggings and the gloves for the most part). So I guess that they will not be showing any armor in the hall....not that it matters since I most likely wont be getting gw2 anyways.

HoM is broken in concept and in implementation.

Who cares, so is most everything else.

The times of accessible and reasonable achievements are long gone. Grind or waste money on what GW tells you to. Nothing else matters.

Proud of something? If it's not a title, or an item that GW says is cool, tough luck, you lose.

HoM isn't there to reward you for your achievements. It's marketing drive to entice you to buy GW2 and keep you playing GW as long as possible.

No, I don't. Because what unlocks you might get in GW2, it would make sense that you'd need the whole set and not just a fragment.

Best solution?: Create the center statue as wearing EXACTLY what you walk into the HoM with. It would just be a dynamic statue that wasn't linked to unlocks. Then people can show off what they're currently wearing (kind of pointless, imo, since they can just look at the person anyway), and Anet doesn't have to worry about the unlock issue.

Not going to happen, and I can't say I'd want this at the top of their priority list anyway.

hmmm, well- dont buy the armor pieces then. How much time do you really stand around in you HoM?? Its not like you get anything for it... you will, in a year or two with GW2 but we dont even know what kind of special crap we'll be getting anyways

personally id be happy if it would simply register different dyes (or did they fix that? I never go to HoM) not only on one set of armor, but for all of them. Just because I have black dyed vabbian warrior chest piece, does not mean every single armor set on display is 5 pieces of black armor.

Very well said.

Latest Gaile logs show that Hard Mode is coming in some months (dunno remember exactly, 3-4 iirc) and that only minor adjustments are planned for the HoM.

Regardless of people bitching about minipet customization, destroyer weapons only display and whatever.

That they end GW1 with something like the HoM in EOTN, a central grind achievement chamber, is ... shabby. Especially after Jeff Strain wasted so much effort on wise words about MMO design and doing one's own thing and whatever.
